Eligibility of Competitor
All Gyoroogi competitors must be 6 years or older. All competitors must agree to abide by the rules of the organizing committee.
Tournament Rules
The current USAT rules and regulations and modified rules of the World Tae Kwon Do Federation (WFT) will govern these Championships for the Gyoroogi and Traditional Poomse divisions.
The Poomse division will be divided by rank, weight, and sex. The official poomse for the competition will be those recognized by the USAT and World Tae Kwon Do Federation.
Gyoroogi - Mandatory Equipment
All Gyoroogi competitors must bring their own safety gear including chest protector, headgear, shin/instep guard, forearm guard, protective cup and mouth guard. Headgear and chest protectors are NOT be provided.
- A standard WTF approved uniform in good condition, white V-neck with black trim only around the collar.
- Shin and instep protector, white only, elastic sponge type stocking.
- Forearm protector, same as shin/instep guard, but only covers from the elbow to the wrist.
- Protective cup worn inside pants.
- Chest protector and headgear are mandatory for all sparring competitors.
- A mouth guard is mandatory.
For gyoroogi competition, each match will be single elimination.
The current USAT Rules and modified rules of the World Tae Kwon Do Federation will govern this event. Competition will be single elimination and will continue until a winner has been established.
In addition, during a match, if one competitor should acquire 7 Points more than his competitor, that competitor will automatically win the match.
Rounds and duration shall be determined at the competition site.
Breaking Competition
- Breaking techniques must be appropriate to the competitor's belt level.
- Each contestant must break three boards.
- All children belts, 13 years old and younger will use 1/2 inch thick boards that measure 6 X 10 inches. Smaller children can use a 8 X 10 inch board.
- All belts, 14 years or older will use boards that are 1 inch thick and measure 8 X 10 inches.
